words of wisdom.

I received these in an e-mail a while back and have been meaning to share them ... They are really good words of wisdom.

1. Pray
2. Go to bed on time.
3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.
4. Say No to projects that won't fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health.

5. Delegate tasks to capable others.
6. Simplify and unclutter your life.
7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)
8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.

9. Pace yourself.  Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together.
10. Take one day at a time.
11. Separate worries from concerns.
If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety.  If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it.
12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases.

13.. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.
14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut).
This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.
15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.

16. Carry a spiritually enlightening book with you to read while waiting in line.
17. Get enough rest.
18. Eat right.
19. Get organized so everything has its place.

20.. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life..
21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.
22. Every day, find time to be alone.
23. Having problems?
Talk to God on the spot.  Try to nip small problems in the bud.  Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray.
24. Make friends with Godly people.

25.. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.
26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good 'Thank you Jesus .'
27. Laugh.
28. Laugh some more!
29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.
30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).

31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).
32. Sit on your ego.
33
. Talk less; listen more.
34. Slow down.
35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.
36
. Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for that you've never been grateful for before.  GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU.

locks of love

on friday, i cut ten inches of my hair off and donated it to locks of love! it's a great feeling to cut all of that hair off (although i'm missing it a little bit!)  but it's also a great feeling to be giving it to locks of love for a child who has lost there hair to different medical conditions.

i've been a bad blogger :(

i can't believe january is over, and february is already in high gear.

oh where to start, my january work out goals, did not work out so well. i'm hoping february will be a better month than january was. school and work have been very busy, and i was trying to make some decisions about work. but with all the ifs and buts that were going on it was a great month.

three weeks ago, the family was over and we celebrated my grandfather's 90th birthday. what a blessing that was.

last weekend i flew to cincinnati to spend the weekend with my dad, step mom, and brother. there was lots of snow on the ground, and i was happy to be able to spend some time with them. i got a grand tour of downtown & loved the city where they are living. i can't wait to go back!

i'm hoping to be updating more often, going to use my blog to help keep my accountable on some things. i look forward to it too! :)

2011 goals

hello 2011.
here are some things that i've got planned for you ...

1) wear my glasses more often.
2) set monthly work-out goals
3) learn to cook different meals
4) save more money through coupon-ing and sale-hunting.
5) spend less time "procrastinating"
6) be a better planner (i used to be good at this!)
7) be at my goal by december 31st, 2011. :) :)

ready. set. GO!

the end of 2010 & the beginning of 2011

1. 2010 is officially over. the year went by quickly! but i can't believe everything that i've done and achieved over the year. i'm excited to see what 2011 will bring me!

2. things are finally slowing down at work, this week should be a slow week and a piece of cake to get through. it's also my last week before classes begin again. vacation flew by, although i was just saved from not being in classes, and not the work part!

3. this weekend was my first weekend off since the beginning of november, it was such a good feeling! i'm so glad that we are back into our rotation! my next two weekend off this month will be spent (one) celebrating grandpa's 90th birthday and (two) in cincinnati with my dad and the family! i can't wait to go visit!

4. in the spirit of it being a new year, i plan on setting some goals for 2011, and for each month. i'll be posting a separate post with those in it, but i'm pretty sure 2011 is going to be an amazing year!

5. the last few weeks, exhausted me, i was tired every waking moment of my day, i was working 45+ hours a week leading in christmas, and refused more hours of overtime that they were going to give me. i took two naps to get through just christmas eve, and more naps to get through christmas day. my days off weren't even enjoyable because i was so tired. i didn't want to eat right, or cook, or go to the grocery store to buy the food. i refused to work out, because i was way to interested in being a bum. but i am happy today to say that i'm back into the routine. i hit the grocery store last night and bought lots of good foods and found a couple of new recipes that i am going to try! i'm really excited!
